On the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee you can visit the black basalt stone ruins of Korazim, an ancient Roman-Byzantine town. The ruins of Korazim's ancient Jewish synagogue are particularly evocative. The town is also mentioned in the New Testament as being one which, for reasons that are not totally clear, roused the wrath of Christ. The site is perfectly pleasant to visit today.
